she feels like she can't be herself
in lots of ways she's somebody else
her heart was breaking when dad went away
he doesn't visit but she says that's okay
can't you hear her she cries in vain inside she wants to say
it's pain when you walk away
pain when you hear her say
pain don't you walk away

he hasn't been the same at all
his world has changed and once a week
he gets a call from a father who's left his mom
to find himself and the world beyond
can't you hear him his anger calls inside he wants to say
she wants to know why something
inside has died and all feels so
lost and she looks to the sky
is God alive, does He even know her name
can't you hear her can't you hear him call your name
